Liquidator warns of scammers auctioning off some BCL assets

The public is warned that there is a scammer aiming to steal money from companies or individuals, under the pretext of auctioning off some BCL assets.

BCL Provisional Liquidator, Nigel Dixon-Warren says the individual, or individuals contact companies and members of the public, claiming that BCL assets are to be auctioned.

The scammer then says to participate in the auction; a deposit needs to be paid.

Dixon-Warren says the scammer or scammers have been known to identify themselves as “Martin Donald, on -77415706 or Mr Mongati on-72499987. He says alternative names could be used.

Dixon-Warren says the assets of BCL and others are not being auctioned and if and when the assets are auctioned it will be well publicised and all communication will be in writing.
