Lobatse go for weeks without refuse collection.

Saturday, 10 June, 2017 - 15:15

Scores of residents in Lobatse have yet again raised concerns over the town council's failure to consistently collect domestic refuse.

It has been three weeks without refuse collection in some parts of Lobatse and some Residents have raised concerns over health hazards.

One Pitikwe ward resident, Janet Moswela said the council has never engaged them as to why refuse has not been collected. She said the bins are full and they pose serious health hazards as all types of liters are left unattended.

The council publicity officer Segametsi Kebonang recently said in an interview that the council is faced with a challenge of refuse collection truck breakdown.

She, however, said the truck is currently undergoing maintenance but the council is working around the clock to normalize the situation.
