Makgato retains BDP Women's wing chairperson position

Cabinet Minister, Dorcas Makgato, has retained her position as Chairperson of the ruling BDP Women's wing.

The Sefhare-Ramokgonami MP was unopposed in elections held yesterday in Maun during the 16th National Women's Wing Congress.

Orefitlhetse Masire, Pearl Markus and Bridget Mavuma were also unopposed for the positions of treasurer, vice treasurer and vice secretary general respectively.

Veronica Lesole also retained the vice-chairperson position after defeating Kgalalelo Mokgweetsi with 335 votes to 163.

Neo Maruapula also retained the secretary general position after defeating Tshenolo Leshomo with 263 votes to 232.

Speaking to Gabz FM news soon after the elections, Makgato said the new committee has pledged unity within the ruling party to ensure victory in the 2019 elections.
