BDF IX dominate the Phikwe Softball Extravaganza

BDF IX has continued its dominance of the Phikwe Softball Extravaganza.
BDF retained the title after beating Wells 3-1 in the finals to win Gold and the P75 000 cash prize, in the finals that were played last night. Mahalapye outfit, Rail Giants came third.
In the Ladies finals, Police IX humiliated Panthers 6-1 to claim the title, with new comers Titans coming third. The runners up in both Men and Ladies categories got P40 000 while third prize got 28 000.
The extravaganza is said to be the richest tournament in the continent in terms of prize money.

Premier league once again embroiled in a financial scandal

The local football Premier league is once again embroiled in a financial scandal.

BFA President Tebogo Sebego has suspended a decision by the board of the Premier league to recall chairman Walter Kgabung and chief executive Bennett Mamelodi, after they allegedly overspent the league’s 6 million Pula budgeted for this season.

Sebego has now ordered those concerned to submit composite reports, to determine the way forward.

Apparently the board now wants a forensic audit carried out. There is also speculation that the league owes the taxman, BURS, huge sums of money.

Speaking at the Top 8 awards last night, Olopeng says FIFA does not have good working relations with its affiliates and that is a concern to Botswana.
