BIUST has denied corruption allegations against Vice-Chancellor Prof. Otlogetswe Totolo

Article By: Tumelo Mouwane The accusations, raised by dismissed BIUST lecturer Dr. Malatsi Galani, have ignited concerns about deep-rooted institutional corruption and the effectiveness of whistleblowing mechanisms in Botswana.

BIUST Public Relations Officer Itumeleng Mangole maintained the university's stance, branding the accusations as baseless and malicious.

She asserted that investigations have already cleared Professor Totolo of any financial wrongdoing.

The dismissal raised eyebrows, with the Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union (BOSETU) viewing it as evidence of what they deem a "deep-rooted culture of corruption" within the university system.
