With Easter approaching, police in Letlhakane and Serule have intensified efforts to ensure public safety.
Letlhakane Station Commander Michael Maphephu says officers are working with churches to promote safe travel, especially after last year’s Mamatlakala tragedy. Police have increased patrols and visibility to deter crime.
Maphephu also warned parents not to leave children unattended during the holidays, citing rising cases of child neglect.
In Serule, Station Commander Reboleng Serumola says patrols along the A1 and surrounding villages are being reinforced. Tsese Gate will operate 24 hours to monitor traffic.
Serumola urged churches to check vehicle roadworthiness ahead of pilgrimages and warned drivers to watch for animals along the highway.
