Article By: Keba Rasekhutla Former President Ian Khama has accused Acting Regent of Bangwato, Kgosi Serogola Seretse, of using kgotla meetings with Serowe residents to garner support for the current regime.
Kgosi Seretse, who maintains a positive relationship with the government, held a meeting yesterday addressing concerns over recent allegations from Serowe Members of Parliament (MPs) who claim he has denied them access to the kgotla.
Speaking to Gabz FM News, Khama labeled the meeting as a political maneuver, accusing Kgosi Seretse of exploiting his father's legacy to gain favor among residents.
Khama has warned locals to be cautious of Kgosi Seretse's attempts to sway votes for the ruling party.
Meanwhie, during the same kgotla meeting, the Acting Regent also announced several community-focused initiatives, including the upcoming Sir Seretse Khama Marathon on June 29th, celebrating the legacy of Botswana's founding president, Sir Seretse Khama.
