HIGHER EDUCATION MINISTRY ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR EQUITABLE STUDENT ALLOWANCES AND CURRICULUM DIGITALIZATION.

The Minister of Higher Education, Prince Maele, has unveiled plans to ensure equal allowances for students at both brigades and other educational institutions in Botswana.

When delivering his Ministry’s Committee of Supply before parliament today, Maele stated that the initiative will begin by increasing allowances for brigade students to match those given to students at tertiary institutions, ensuring equal financial support for all students, regardless of their educational path.

The Minister also highlighted that the second phase will introduce further increases to allowances, aligned with the UDC's election promises, and will involve consultations with relevant stakeholders ahead of the next academic year.
