The case in which the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) is appealing a High Court ruling that allowed the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) to observe and monitor voter registration will be heard this morning.
The IEC filed an appeal with the Court of Appeal seeking to overturn a High Court ruling that granted the UDC the right to observe and monitor the voter registration process.
This move comes after Judge Gaopalelwe Ketlogetswe of the Francistown High Court reaffirmed the UDC's monitoring rights in a November 10th order, upholding an earlier ruling issued on October 31st.
UDC attorney Owen Nsala recently confirmed receiving the appeal documents.
