PRESIDENT BOKO HINTS AT SELLING CITIZENSHIP TO BOOST NATIONAL REVENUE.

Article By: Diana Motsu

Botswana could potentially follow in the footsteps of the United States of America and sell citizenship to expatriates as part of efforts to address the nation's economic challenges, particularly in light of declining diamond sales.

This was said by President Duma Boko when addressing Kanye residents yesterday. The President emphasized that proceeds from the sale of citizenship could be used to fund critical national projects aimed at stimulating economic growth and improving the quality of life for citizens.

Additionally, President Boko noted that the National Development Plan 12 is nearing completion and will be presented before Parliament during the winter session.

He indicated that the plan includes the construction of a 158-bed hospital in Kanye and stressed that communities will have the opportunity to review the plan to ensure that their needs are adequately reflected.
