Botswana Doctors Union (BDU) President Dr. Kefilwe Selema has called on government to urgently remove senior public officials he says are upholding oppressive practices inherited from the previous administration.
Speaking at a gathering where the Six Cooperating Trade Unions (6+1 CoTU) shared updates on efforts to revive the Public Service Bargaining Council, Dr. Selema argued that the continued presence of these officials is stalling progress and obstructing much-needed reforms.
He further criticized the Ministries and the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) for their poor response to workers’ demands, warning that delays in action risk preserving the status quo and weakening public service delivery and labor relations.
